Delight of the scribe: the tree of life and the tree of knowledge of good and evil
The nine Hebrew letters located between the tree of life and the tree of knowledge of good and evil, "in the midst (middle) of the garden", when read in reverse translate into English as "Delight of the scribe." The tree of life and the tree of knowledge of good and evil may be the same tree in the middle of the garden, and may represent the Word of God, the Living Word, the delight (enjoyment) of the scribe.
Following is one writer's concept of the great tree:
"The majestic tree was the first temple of God and the original tabernacle man. Beneath its spreading branches and swinging boughs man first held conscious communion with the Divine Spirit of the universe. In its checkered shade the first offspring of God's creation gamboled and frolicked." (A Dictionary of Trees, p. 5, "The Tree", by Fred Walden; 1963, Great Outdoors Publishing Co., St. Petersburg 14, Florida).
It is interesting that this author chose the word "checkered" in reference to the shade of the great tree.
The Hebrew word for "crossword puzzle" also means "checkered work", and contains the root meaning "checkered".
In the painting, "Delight of the Scribe", I have rendered the Living Tree and Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil as a Biblecode matrix, which is in essence a checkered work crossword puzzle.
The Bible Code is a scientific analysis of the Hebrew text of the bible. When each letter is placed in a grid, the matrix becomes a cross-word puzzle, a word search with words and phrases interlocking in all directions, right, left, up, down, and diagonally.
The scientific principle which is incorporated into the Bible Code is what cryptographers refer to as equidistant letter sequence (ELS). It simply means that each letter in a code is an equal distance from its preceding letter. So if a code is on a five letter skip, every fifth letter is part of the code which spells out a word, or phrase, or sentence.
The grid in this painting is based on a nine-letter-line code matrix, simply because the key phrase "Delight of the scribe" is comprised of nine letters. Because it is a nine letter grid, all the nine-skip ELS codes fall in the vertical columns.
God's system depends heavily upon symmetries, which can be seen throughout the Bible.
This matrix, which contains the Hebrew text of Genesis 2: 7-12, has been scrutinized specifically for its symmetrical codes. The first code at the top of the grid is "Created of Yahweh." Beneath that is the phrase "My agreement." Located centrally (symmetrically) within this phrase is the word "Symmetry".
Noted below is a list of the highlighted symmetrical Biblecodes within this matrix:

Following is the English translation of the plain text in the code matrix of Genesis 2: 7-12:
And YAHWEH God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And YAHWEH God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made YAHWEH God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium (gum Arabic) and the onyx stone.
